This class is an introduction & overview of the appliances found in a typical residential kitchen including the refrigerator, range (gas or electric), dishwasher, & garbage disposal. The course will review the mechanical & electrical components, operations, cycles, functions, & general troubleshooting of each of the listed appliances. Typical design & installation principles, & a review of how to read wiring diagrams will also be a focus of this class.
Topics covered in this class will include: • Electrical safety & Lock-out/Tag-out • The residential grade refrigerator • Push-in type Range/Oven appliance (gas or electric) • The built-in Dishwasher – plumbing & installation • Sink installed garbage disposer – plumbing & replacement • Operating cycles – all appliances • Common repairs – all appliances • Reading a typical wiring diagram • Preventative maintenance – all appliances • Troubleshooting – tools, process, & techniques

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the AAGD Education Department at least 24 hours prior to class. Written confirmation from the Education Department will be sent via e-mail. Substitutions are allowed, but ALL NO SHOWS WILL BE BILLED WITHOUT EXCEPTION. By registering for this program, you agree that you have read and understood the cancellation policy.
