This presentation “celebrates” the federal Fair Housing laws and demonstrates how to use these to your benefit in marketing and leasing efforts. Fair housing issues that impact lease renewals, Resident services, and maintenance personnel are also addressed. About the Instructor:
Rick Ellis, CAM, CPM, President, ELLIS Consulting Group


Rick Ellis has been part of the multifamily industry for over 39 years.  Starting as an onsite assistant manager and leasing professional, Rick directed a fast growing apartment portfolio beginning with two properties in the Dallas area to over 5000 units in three states.  In 1985, he founded ELLIS Consulting Group in Irving, Texas, providing market consulting, training, and contract leasing to the multi-family industry.  Rick also excels in property management through his management company, ELLIS HomeSource, specializing in “off-site” management, handling a sizable portfolio of single-family homes, duplexes, and condominiums throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. ELLIS HomeSource was the first single-family management company in the nation to earn the Institute of Real Estate Management’s prestigious AMO – Accredited Management Organization - designation.  Rick is a graduate of Abilene Christian University receiving a BA in 1977 and a MA in Theology in 1979.
