The AAGD Government Affairs team is actively working with local officials to find and alert our members of rental assistance programs available in our local cities and counties. Below you will find a list of information received as of today. As the AAGD staff is alerted to additional programs, we will add the information to this page.
COUNTIES
Dallas County
Funding
- Amount Per Eligible Household: Up to $1,500 for 3 months
- Funding Recipient: Property Manager
Eligibility Criteria
- AMI % : up to 80%
- Residents must show that they have been adversely affected by COVID-19 Pandemic (loss of job, reduced hours, reduction in pay, increased healthcare expenses, added childcare expenses)
- The principal residence must have been within the eligible area since at least March 1, 2020
- Residents may not receive additional CARES Act funds from other agency

Eligibility Criteria
Residents
- Must be a resident of Collin County, excluding those located in the City of Dallas as they have received their own funding
- Must have experienced a 25% or more reduction in income due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Must maintain $20,000 or less in non-retirement assets
- Must have documented income which does not exceed 200% of AMI

McKinney
Funding
- The grant runs from June 1 through December 1, 2020
Eligibility Criteria
- Households must show they have been directly financially impacted by COVID-19.
- Applicants must be a resident of Collin County, and not a resident of the City of Dallas. To verify if your address is in Collin County, please visit: https://gis.collincountytx.gov/
- Each adult in the household (18 yrs and over) must submit proof of income documentation - paystubs etc. - upload on 'Documents' tab. Those who cannot, must submit a signed Letter of Explanation located in the 'Documents' tab.
- All adult members of the household (18 yrs and over) must submit one (1) months' proof of income BEFORE (pre-March 1, 2020) & AFTER (post-March 16, 2020) being financially impacted by COVID-19. This includes complete pay stubs, Social Security/SSI, Pension, Unemployment benefits, Retirement, Disability, etc. Those who cannot provide documentation of income, must submit a must signed Letter of Explanation, located in the 'Documents' tab.
- Self-Employed applicants must provide documentation to show the difference of income before and after being finally impacted by COVID-19. Documentation of required business closing and pre-post COVID banking account statements fulfill this requirement.
- Proof of current enrollment for household adults (18 yrs and over) who are full time High School or College students must be submitted. Does not apply to the Head of Household.
- If applying for Utility Assistance, applicants must submit the utility bill(s) for the month(s) assistance is being requested.
- If applying for Rental or Mortgage Assistance, applicants must submit their lease agreement or most recent mortage statement(s) for the month(s) assistance is being requested.

Grand Prairie
Funding

Eligibility Criteria
- Grand Prairie Resident
- Combined household income equal to or below 80% of the medium income of their respective county
- Financially impacted by COVID-19 (loss of job, reduced hours, reduction in pay, increased healthcare expenses, added childcare expenses, etc.
- Cannot have participated in another CARES funded assistance program
- Must furnish a photo ID, proof of residency, financial and household information
- Valid bill for rent, mortgage, and/or utilities must be provided
- Assistance will be provided to the landlord, lender, and/or utility company directly after applicant has been verified and approved. In no circumstance will an applicant be provided funding directly
- Mortgage assistance will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine eligibility
- Eligible applicants will be able to receive up to 3 months of assistance not to exceed $1,500 per month
- Expenses incurred between March 1st, 2020 and November 30th, 2020 are eligible
