Class Description: April is National Fair Housing Month so what better time to brush up on your knowledge and skills. Fair housing for Multifamily, needs to be clear for everyone, everywhere—at all times. This class will ensure you understand the basics of Fair Housing and how to apply the laws in your everyday job. We will discuss plenty of real-life, everyday sticky situations than can occur that most people don’t think about until they encounter them— and then they PANIC! This class is designed for those who are new to the industry or those who need a refresher.
In this class you will learn:
- Consistent Leasing procedures (greeting, qualifying, telephone, touring, closing, availability, etc.)
- The difference between accommodations vs. modifications and were service/support animals fit in that puzzle
- The shoppers are out there – is your team prepared?
About the Instructor: Anita Hord, CAM
Anita Hord began her multifamily real estate career with Pace Realty in 1986 while attending the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. In her current role as Senior Vice President at Pace, she is responsible for Pace’s internal Training and Educational programs through Pace University and directs the day to day operations of the companies Affordable Housing portfolio. Anita enjoys teaching topics for the Apartment Association including Fair Housing, Leadership and Team Building, and is a Certified Instructor of True Colors®. She is a recipient of several awards, including the prestigious AATC Lone Star Award for Supervisor of the Year, was the AATC 2014 Member of the Year, and was inducted in 2018 as a member of the AAGD Legends of Education. She holds the NCP designation from the Housing Credit College, is a graduate of AATC and AAGD’s Leadership Lyceum programs, and serves on the Board of Directors for both associations

Written confirmation from the Education Department will be sent via e-mail. Substitutions are allowed, but ALL NO SHOWS WILL BE BILLED WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
