New Dallas County Eviction Order August Update

On August 5, 2020, 7 out of 10 Dallas County justices of the peace agreed to a new eviction order.
Under this order, all residential eviction cases for non-payment of rent filed on after July 5, 2020 shall not be set for trial until August 24, 2020. Any cases already scheduled before August 5 may proceed at the discretion of the judge.
This order does not apply to the following courts:
Precinct 2-1 (Judge Margaret O'Brien)
Precinct 3-1 (Judge Al Cercone)
Precinct 3-2 (Judge Steve Seider)
This order is effective immediately.
