Safer People vs Safer Places

Presented by Jeff McKissack, President, Defense by Design
Most efforts in security and risk management are focused on making 'places' safer.  Yet what one dynamic foils any and all such efforts on a regular basis?  It is always a 'person' that let someone in, assumed someone was who they said they were, invited the wrong person onsite, etc.  So even with the best of technology and intentions, your people (i.e. residents) are continually your weakest link in security and risk management.  So how do you flip this script and change this paradigm whereby residents look to themselves and each other versus you in property management for their safety?

What are the major physical, data and reputational risks that can blindside your property or management company that can be proactively addressed and mitigated.  How can they be more proactively mitigated?  What are the "best practices" by way of documenting the process to prove your due diligence?  These are the topics addressed in this presentation.

11:30am - 2:00pm
Pizza with the PD: Active Shooter Response & Summer Safety
