Class Description:
Fair Housing Laws apply to everyone who is part of the Multifamily Industry, no matter the job title. Join Anita Hord as she will help you to better understand the basics of Fair Housing Laws and how to apply them in your everyday role. Not to mention, she will offer examples of real-life, not so everyday situations than can catch even the most season professional off guard, leaving them stumped! So, whether you are new to the industry, or need to brush up on your Fair Housing knowledge, this class is for you!

- How to implement consistent leasing procedures (greeting, qualifying, telephone, touring, closing, availability, etc.)
- The difference between accommodations vs. modifications and where service/support animals fit in that puzzle
- How to stay ready for Fair Housing Shopper encounters
About the Instructor:
Anita Hord, CAM, HCCP, NAAEI Faculty, Executive Vice President, LUMA Residential
Anita Hord has been in the multi-family industry for over 35 years, starting her career in Denton while attending the University of North Texas. She is currently the Executive Vice President for LUMA Residential here in Dallas. Anita has a passion for elevating and developing top talent through mentoring and training. In 2018 Anita became a NAAEI Faculty member and has taught classes on Leadership, Team Building, Fair Housing, CAM, and is a certified instructor of True Colors®. She is the recipient of several awards, including the prestigious AATC Lone Star Award for Supervisor of the Year, was the AATC Member of the Year in 2014, and in 2018, she was honored to be inducted as a member of the AAGD Legends of Education. Anita holds the NCCP designation from the Housing Credit College, CAM from the National Apartment Association, is a graduate of the AATC and AAGD Leadership Lyceum programs, and has previously served on the Board of Directors for both AATC and AAGD.

Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the AAGD Education Department at least 24 hours prior to class. Written confirmation from the Education Department will be sent via e-mail. Substitutions are allowed, but ALL NO SHOWS WILL BE BILLED WITHOUT EXCEPTION. By registering for this program, you agree that you have read and understood the cancellation policy.
