ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Eligible for 3 CEC

Class Description:

This engaging and practical Fair Housing course is tailored specifically for multifamily leasing office staff and maintenance professionals. Taught entirely in Spanish, the class focuses on everyday applications of Fair Housing law in apartment communities, helping front line teams understand their legal responsibilities when interacting with residents and prospects.

What makes this class unique is the instructor’s cultural perspective. She addresses how common misinterpretations of Fair Housing law can arise, especially among professionals from Latin American backgrounds—where there is no direct equivalent to this legislation. By bridging this cultural gap, the course builds stronger awareness and confidence around legal compliance and respectful communication.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the seven federally protected classes and how they apply in leasing and maintenance operations.
  • Recognize common violations and how to prevent them.
  • Understand how cultural differences and communication styles can unintentionally lead to noncompliance.
  • Learn practical, inclusive communication techniques to serve diverse residents effectively.
  • Emphasize the importance of consistency and documentation.
  • Strengthen understanding of Fair Housing responsibilities in a multicultural team environment.

This session will help your Spanish-speaking team members better navigate Fair Housing compliance while promoting fair and respectful service across your community.
