Class Description: Maintenance supervisors work hand in hand with Property Managers to ensure the success of their teams and community.  This class will examine the qualities and actions that are common to the most effective leaders.  You will develop and enhance your leadership abilities so that you lead a productive and efficient maintenance team.   

In this class you will learn:

  • How to promote teamwork
  • Best practices for time management and establishing clear timelines
  • How to be a strong communicator while setting clear and specific goals and objectives
  • How to motivate your team to succeed

About the Instructor: Jimmy McClung, CAMT, ARM, CPO, Maintenance Support Supervisor, LumaCorp, Inc.

Jimmy serves as Maintenance Support Supervisor for LumaCorp, Inc located in Dallas, Texas. He holds his CAMT/Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician from the National Apartment Association Education Institute and the ARM/Accredited Residential Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management.  In his current role as Maintenance Support Supervisor, Jimmy oversees daily responsibilities of each communities’ maintenance teams. He designs training programs for LumaCorp structured around maintenance efficiencies and guides his teams to excellence. Jimmy is the 2019 Apartment Association of Tarrant County Lone Star Award winner for Regional Maintenance Supervisor, he serves on the Maintenance Advisory Board for AATC, and is an instructor for the CAMT Program and additional maintenance courses for multiple apartment associations in Texas. He is the recipient of the TAA Mary Williams Award and the NAA Paragon Award.


About the Instructor: Jamie Godek, NAAEI Faculty, Director of Training, LumaCorp, Inc

Jamie began her career over 32 years ago while onsite.  Jamie started in Leasing and in 1997, she was given the opportunity to hold multiple positions including Training for onsite employees. Jamie has been employed with LumaCorp since July 1999 and in 2002 she was promoted to Regional Supervisor managing 6-8 properties.  In 2005 an opportunity to move into a training position came available, and since then she has held the position of Director of Training for LumaCorp, Inc. She has helped develop multiple training programs including online learning for all onsite positions.  In 2016, Jamie became an AATC instructor and became part of the NAAEI Faculty.

Written confirmation from the Education Department will be sent via e-mail.  Substitutions are allowed, but ALL NO SHOWS WILL BE BILLED WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
