The Counties We Represent With Shelter-In-Place Orders Issued

The following counties have issued a Shelter-In-Place Order, Dallas, Collin, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Hunt and Rockwall Counties have issued shelter-in-place orders. Their effective dates and term lengths vary by county.

While Denton County, Hunt County and Rockwall County orders closely resemble the Dallas County order related to essential businesses, Collin County issued an entirely different order. See below for the main differences between the orders.

Dallas County Effective 11:59 pm on March 23 Through April 3

The order allows individuals to leave their residences if they perform work providing essential services at an “Essential Business.” (Section 2.a.iv). Essential Business is defined as “essential services necessary to maintain essential operations of residences or other essential residences.” (Section 2.b.vi). These services include on-site rental housing operations, property management, and maintenance.

Collin County Effective 11:59 pm on March 24 Through March 31

Judge Hill Rescinded his March 24th order and the county is now following Governor Abbott's Executive Order.
Denton County Order Effective 11:59 pm on March 25 Through April 1

The order allows individuals to leave their residences if they perform work providing essential services at an “Essential Business.” (Section 2.a.iv). Essential Business is defined as “essential services necessary to maintain essential operations of residences or other essential residences.” (Section 2.b.vii). These services include on-site rental housing operations, property management, and maintenance.

Ellis County Order Effective 11:59 pm on March 25 Through April 3

The order allows individuals to leave their residences if they perform work providing essential services at an “Essential Business.” (Section 2.a.iv). Essential Business is defined as “essential services necessary to maintain essential operations of residences or other essential residences.” (Section 2.b.vi). These services include on-site rental housing operations, property management, and maintenance.

Hunt County Order Effective 11:59 pm on March 24 Through April 3

The order allows individuals to leave their residences if they perform work providing essential services at an “Essential Business.” (Section 3.a.iv). Essential Business is defined as “essential services necessary to maintain essential operations of residences or other essential residences.” (Section 3.b.vi). These services include on-site rental housing operations, property management, and maintenance.

Kaufman County Order Effective 11:59 pm on March 25 Through April 8

The order allows individuals to leave their residences if they perform work providing essential services at an “Essential Business.” (Section 3.d). Essential Business is defined as “essential services necessary to maintain essential operations of residences or other essential residences.” (Section 4.s). These services include on-site rental housing operations, property management, and maintenance.

Rockwall County Effective 11:59 pm on March 24 Through April 15

The order allows individuals to leave their residences if they perform work providing essential services at an “Essential Business.” (Section 2.a.iv). Essential Business is defined as “essential services necessary to maintain essential operations of residences or other essential residences.” (Section 2.b.vi). These services include on-site rental housing operations, property management, and maintenance.

Note: Cities with split counties (i.e. Richardson, Carrollton, etc.) will follow orders for each county depending on where the city lies on boundary lines.
