EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The AAGD Education Foundation was founded in 1995 and is a registered 501 (c) (3) charity organization whose mission is to make AAGD a premier source of education for its membership and the apartment industry. This mission includes goals of providing scholarships for students, faculty training, and the research, development, production, and marketing of education programs.

Donna Derden Scholarship (Application window will open Winter 2024)

The Foundation currently offers the Donna Derden Scholarship, which provides financial aid to those professionals that have shown their commitment to our industry and are seeking to advance their knowledge and career by earning their NAAEI Industry Credentials: CAPS, CAM, CALP, CAMT.

Gerry Henigsman U.S Militay Veteran Scholarship (Application will open Winter 2024)

The Foundation is honored to also offer the Gerry Henigsman U.S. Military Veteran Scholarship. This is a scholarship awarded to a retired or honorably discharged military veteran who is a current industry professional looking to earn their NAAEI credentials.

Application & Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently employed by an AAGD Operator Member company and community.
  • Applicants must submit all required documentation by the listed deadline:
    • Completed Scholarship Application Form
    • Letter of recommendation from an immediate supervisor
    • Current Resume
    • DD-214 (Henigsman Only)

Each year scholarship winners are selected by a committee and announced at the annual AAGD Education Conference.

Awarded scholarships are available for the winners to use for one NAAEI in-person Credential program offered at the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas the year that the scholarship is awarded.
