Class Description:  2021 had a rocky start with the recent winter storms experienced here in DFW.  Even though the storms are over, COVID-19 remains a part of our lives.  Join a panel of industry experts as they explore COVID-19 and its lasting effects on Multifamily.  They will discuss what they have done on their properties, including what has worked and hasn’t as well as procedures that were implemented temporarily and those that will remain in place.  This will be a discussion that addresses best practices such as:

  • The importance of having Safety Policies that include a response to pandemics
  • Consistency in addressing employee exposure to COVID-19
  • Employee accommodations such as sick leave, PTO, etc. (FFCRA was not extended)
  • Looking into the future and the lasting effects on the workplace

About the Instructor: Sherry Jordan, CAM
Sherry has been in the multifamily industry for over 40 years and has been with Luma Residential for 18 years, where she is the Vice President, Operations.   She began as a leasing consultant and held all onsite management positions during her tenure, as well as being a Property Supervisor for 20 years.   She understands what it is like to be “boots on the ground”.

Ms. Jordan has received numerous awards such as the Texas Apartment Association Rita Kirby Property Supervisor of the Year in 2012, she was recognized at the prestigious Lone Star Awards for the Apartment Association of Tarrant County’s Property Supervisor of the Year in 2009.  She has served on the Board of Directors for AATC and the Texas Apartment Association; she was a Delegate to the National Apartment Association for the last 6 years.   She previously served on the board of Directors for IREM-Dallas.  Additionally, has completed the Lyceum Program for AATC, TAA, and NAA.   She has been an instructor of the NALP/CALP and CAM courses for both the Dallas and Tarrant County Apartment Associations. 

About the Instructor: Antoinette Williams, CAM, CAPS
Antoinette Williams is a Regional Vice President with CARROLL, responsible for overseeing property operations in Georgia, Texas, and Colorado. Antoinette started as a Leasing Consultant 14 years ago with Essex Property Trust in California and has been with Carroll for 7 years. Antoinette has served the Bay Area Apartment Association in Tampa and now serves on the Education Committee with AAGD and is an executive sponsor on CARROLL’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.

About the Instructor: Sarah Turner
Sarah brings fun energy and knowledge that she has learned throughout her years in the industry. Sarah serves as a Senior Regional Manager with Olympus Property. Over the years Sarah has held key positions from Leasing Consultant to National Marketing Director, to Regional Manager with reputable companies in our industry. Sarah has served with the Apartment Association of Tarrant County in many capacities and was once the AATC Director of Education.  She has been an active member and volunteer for AAGD and TAA for many years.  Sarah’s number one priority is to support, motivate and educate those in our industry, enabling them to reach their full potential.

About the Instuctor: Cayce Coon, CAM, CAPS, NAAEI Faculty
Cayce is the recipient of several industry awards including the prestigious Lone Star Award in 2013 and 2018, an AATC Lyceum graduate and a current member of NAAEI. Currently she serves on the executive board at the Apartment Association of Tarrant County and has co-chaired and served on several committees at the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas. She holds her CAM and CAPS Credentials and is an advocate for the continuing education/training of our industry professionals. Cayce specializes in repositioning assets through successful team building, and an innovative sales and customer service approach proven to maintain resident satisfaction.
